    Mission Statement



    The mission of 35thsignal.com is two fold:

  • to keep an accurate historical record of the 35th Signal Brigade, its subordinate units, and its soldiers. Although the standard historical records will be recorded, such as combat campaign participation, etc. - we will also record the stories and experience of the soldiers in the 35th Signal Brigade.
  • to serve as the central rally point for all veterans and supporters of the 35th Signal Brigade, once the largest Airborne signal brigade in the world.
  • We are a brand new community and are hard at work making improvements to our new home. Click the 'forums' link to find us and we hope to see you on the boards!




    Brigade History

    The 35th Signal Brigade, the largest unit of its type, originally activated in 1943 as the 931st Signal Battalion, the unit performed admirably in the Central Burma and India Burma Campaigns, earning the Meritorious Unit Citation. The Battalion was deactivated ate the end of World War II, but in 1967, it was reactivated and designated the 35th Signal Group. It became a brigade in 1979. The brigade originally consisted of a headquarters company, four signal battalions (25th Signal Battalion, 50th Signal Battalion, 327th Signal Battalion and 426th Signal Battalion) and a separate company, the 514th Long Range Extension Signal Company.
